Professors and Staff

Phineas Nigellus Black: Headmaster of Hogwarts. He is a former Slytherin, and previously served as Hogwarts' History of Magic professor. He is a known opponent of mixed blood and Muggle-born wizards and witches' attending the school.

Madame Helena Blavatsky: Professor of Divination and head of House Hufflepuff. She is known in the Muggle world for her interest in spiritualism.

Chevalier Auguste Dupin: Professor of Potions and head of House Ravenclaw. He was a famed detective in Paris before coming to teach at Hogwarts.

Ada Lovelace: A staff member who built the school's Analytical Engine (one of the few in England!) and assists Professor Moriarty with his Arithmancy class.

James Moriarty: Professor of Arithmancy and head of House Slytherin. He is known in the Muggle world for his work with mathematics.

Abraham Van Helsing: This former Auror is the head of House Gryffindor and the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Anemone: Hogwarts Grounds and Housekeeper, who manages the house elves and helps to keep the students in line.

House Gryffindor

Percy B. Longbottom: A foppish, appearance-focused young man of mixed wizarding blood.

Wilhelmina Murray: Professor Van Helsing's star pupil, a talented mixed blood witch.

Eglantine Pickman: An artistic witch from Boston, from a prominent American wizarding family.

Edwina Weasley: An athletic, headstrong witch from the pureblood Weasley family

House Slytherin

Renata Whateley: Another American studentfrom Massachusetts and a prominent wizarding family -- also an albino.

Artemisia Black: The headmaster's niece and Head Girl, a proud and haughty witch of the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black.

Daniel Lessingham: A half-English, half-Egyptian wizard from a pureblood family.

House Hufflepuff

Alice Liddell: A distracted and dreamy Muggle-born witch with a knack for Divination, and a cat familiar that follows her everywhere.

John Watson: A flirtatious Muggle-born wizard with a skill for Herbology.

Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany: The youngest son of Victoria and Albert is a sickly young man, troubled with hemophilia.

Belinda Kruppe: a bookish, pureblood witch with a mischievous streak, who's never seen far from her friends Artemisia and Edwina.

House Ravenclaw

Sherlock Holmes: Professor Dupin's protege, an intelligent, mixed blood wizard with an interest in Potions and solving mysteries.

Irene Adler: the second of Dupin's proteges, a vibrant, pureblood witch who carries on a friendly rivalry with Holmes.


Tarik Khaldun: the Special Director of Magical Antiquities for wizarding Egypt, visiting tonight to oversee the opening of the sarcophagus.

Tobias Smoot: England's Minister of Magic and a former Gryffindor; here to oversee the opening of the sarcophagus and its transport to the Department of Mysteries.

A.J. Raffles: This star Quidditch player and former Slytherin works as assistant to the Minister of Magic, and will be accompanying him on his visit tonight.

Alice Liddell's familiar (The Cheshire Cat): This cat has been with Alice Liddell ever since she returned to Hogwarts for her seventh year.
